Begoma Wrapped – End of year review

What themes have dominated 2024 for Begoma? We asked the Managing Director, Henrik Malmberg, to summarize the past 12 months and give his end of year review.

2024 is ending soon and with only a few weeks left before 2025, we at Begoma feel it is appropriate to review the year. Managing Director, Henrik Malmberg, has previously given his thoughts on the first half of the year and made predictions about the future ahead of the autumn season.

On both occasions, the topic of sustainability and sustainable transportation and logistics solutions have been topping the agenda. When he is asked to review the year of 2024 in full, this time is no different.

– 2024 is the year when the Swedish basic industry has truly awakened and started demanding more sustainable transportation solutions, says Henrik Malmberg, Managing Director at Begoma.

Amongst Begoma’s customers you will find both smaller companies with sporadic needs in transportation and logistics as well as some of the biggest companies in the Swedish industrial sector.

– We have always had customers that want to make conscious and sustainable business decisions regarding their transportation and logistics solutions. The clear trend now is that even the biggest companies in Sweden have started to adopt this way of thinking as well, says Henrik Malmberg.

Begoma Academy

During 2024 Begoma has also taken several important steps in future proofing the company. For example, restructured employee responsibilities for middle management, adopted a new system for company finances and launched the Begoma Academy – our own platform for employee training.

– There is a shortage of skilled labor in our sector. However, with these steps we are confident in hiring new people even though they may lack the formal experience and skills that previously would have been required. We know that we can teach and educate our employees in the right way, says Henrik Malmberg.

Shared grief

During the year, Begoma also shared the grief in saying farewell all too soon to one of our employees in Zambia. The driver Michael Banda passed away at the age of 37. The whole Begoma family sends our condolences to Michael’s family and loved ones.
