What you can expect from the rest of 2025
What to expect from Begoma in the second half of 2025? Managing Director, Henrik Malmberg, gives his thoughts and directions for the future.
The first six months of the year have given cause for cautious optimism. Several signs of recovering markets and increased investments make the view towards the rest of 2025 an optimistic one.
– What we have seen so far in Q1 and Q2 will probably lead to an increased levels of economic activity across all sectors. This is something to be excited about, says Henrik Malmberg.
När vi tittar framåt, säger Henrik, att vi kan förvänta oss mer av samma sak under andra halvåret 2025.

Another area which gives cause for cautious optimism for the future is Ukraine. After more than three years of continued war, Ukraine has showed great resilience and improved defenses against Russian attacks. As Henrik puts it: “The fate of the country lies in the hands of the Ukrainian people”.
However, defending during wartime and building for the future are two separate things. For Begoma, with our Ukrainian office in Kyiv, this is something we are heavily invested in.
– We are committed to strengthening Ukraine by improving transportation to and from Europe, and in turn increasing trade and business opportunities in Ukraine. A strengthened Ukraine has a better chance of ending the war on their own terms, says Henrik Malmberg.
Improved fuel efficiency
During the second half of the year, Begoma will take an even more hands-on approach in working towards reaching our ambitious goals pertaining to our sustainability strategy.
We have already stated, in no uncertain terms, that we will cut our CO2 emissions in half by 2030. The work has already begun.
– We will increase our rail operations and improve the fuel efficiency of our trailer fleet. By adding trailer side skirts, we will decrease the aerodynamic resistance and in turn decrease the amount of fuel needed for our trailers. This is good news, both financially and for the climate, says Henrik Malmberg.
Securing talent and competence is always high on the agenda for Begoma. Through our platform for employee training, Begoma Academy, we will continue to do so. From now on, all of our employees will receive sustainability training as a part of this endeavor.
– We always look for ways to improve our efficiency and raise the bar for ourselves. This year is no different.
